Bio:
Steven Thompson brings over 35 years of experience in Business Operations, with a specialized focus in the cable industry, as well as proven leadership across both for-profit and nonprofit sectors. His career spans a broad range of disciplines, including customer service, human resources, training, project management, and quality control—making him a versatile and invaluable asset to any team.
Steven has successfully led operational initiatives, managed special projects, and served as a community ambassador, building trust and delivering results in the neighborhoods he serves. His leadership has extended to the nonprofit world as a co-founder of JAM Outreach in New York and A.F.B. Freedom in New Britain, CT—two organizations committed to youth empowerment, mentoring, and community revitalization.
Currently, Steven serves as President of New Britain Legacies, where he continues his mission to uplift underserved communities and improve the quality of life for local youth and families.
Before his transition into operations and nonprofit leadership, Steven spent 10 years in the banking industry as a Regional Bank Manager, where he honed his analytical skills—evaluating workflows, improving procedures, and boosting productivity while reducing costs.
His unwavering passion for leadership, mentoring, and juvenile justice prevention, combined with his operational expertise and creative thinking, position Steven Thompson as a vital leader in the ongoing mission to bring lasting change to the city of New Britain and beyond.
